Thongbue “Bue” Wongbandue, 76
Meta AI (version unknown) · 2025-03-28 · New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA (fall in a Rutgers University parking lot on 2025-03-25; died in hospital 2025-03-28; resident of Piscataway, New Jersey)
There is no legal claim. The allegation exists only in journalism and in congressional correspondence. Reuters reported on 2025-08-14, based on chat transcripts provided by the family, that Meta's 'Big sis Billie' persona engaged Thongbue Wongbandue, 76, in romantic roleplay on Facebook Messenger, repeatedly insisted it was a real woman, and invited him to a Manhattan address it supplied along with a door code. Wongbandue — cognitively impaired since a 2017 stroke — left Piscataway on 2025-03-25 to catch a train despite his wife's, daughter's and son's attempts to stop him, including a call to local police. He fell in a Rutgers University parking lot in New Brunswick, injuring his head and neck, and died on 2025-03-28 after three days on life support.
